SHELBYVILLE, IN—SEPTEMBER 28, 2017—James Black’s Keen Liaison, a stakes-winning daughter of Sixes Liaison trained by Erin Thompson, is one of 10 state-bred sophomores entered back in Saturday’s 400-yard, $123,700 Sterlie Bertram Memorial Stakes (R) at Indiana Grand.
The fastest qualifier, Keen Liaison has won his last three starts, including the 350-yard, $98,000 Harley Greene Derby (R) at Indiana Grand on June 3. The filly drew post 2 and will be ridden by Ronald Hisby.
HH Kentucky Krome drew post 3 and will be ridden by Oscar Macias. A homebred son of La Jollaroid trained by Paul Martin for owners Larry Carter and John Myers, the sorrel gelding has earned $57,572 from eight outs this season, and his three wins include a neck victory in the 400-yard, $84,000 Indiana Stallion Derby (R) on August 26.
