All American Derby Runner-Up One Sweet Racy To Compete At Los Alamitos On Friday Night

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—SEPTEMBER 28, 2017—Johnny Trotter’s One Sweet Racy, the runner-up in the Grade 1 All American Derby, will make her Los Alamitos debut in Friday’s eighth race while facing a field that includes an older mare and four talented fillies in the $11,325 allowance feature of the night.

Trained here by Jaime Gomez, One Sweet Racy arrives at the Orange County oval with the trials to the Los Alamitos Super Derby in mind. She’s eligible to compete in the 400-yard trials to be held on Saturday, October 21.

Bred by Gary Hall’s Sunflower Supply Company, One Sweet Racy is a half-sister of Trotter’s 2011 Los Alamitos Super Derby winner and AQHA champion filly Miss Racy Jess. One Sweet Racy’ is also a half-sister to noted California-based stallion Kiddy Up and six-figure earners Miss Racy Eyes ($133,195) and Vikes Iota ($103,709). Their dam, Miss Racy Vike, won 10 of 31 career starts and earned $263,661. She was a stakes winner at Los Alamitos and in Texas.

One Sweet Racy has finished in the money in all six of her starts this year, including that solid second place effort to Hold Air Hostage in the All American Derby after posting the fifth fastest qualifying time.

One Sweet Racy qualified to the Rainbow Juvenile as a 2-year-old and also qualified to the Corona Cartel Derby, which is the consolation for the Rainbow Derby.

An AQHA Past President, Trotter is the CEO of Livestock Investors LLT and owns Bar G Feedyard. A member of the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, Trotter bred 2008 Los Alamitos Super Derby winner One Famous Eagle, who he campaigned in partnership with Burnett Ranches Ltd. One Famous Eagle also won the 2007 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity.
