PORTLAND, OR—OCTOBER 4, 2017—The stage is set for a double feature of stakes action on Monday at Portland Meadows with the running of the $10,000-added Director’s Handicap at 350 yards for three-year-old and up Quarter Horses.

A list of ten have been nominated for The Director’s Cap with last year’s Far West Futurity winner L Bar D Genuine Red among the group expected.

Multiple stakes winner Sorelli is also expected with highly regarded Tickle Ur Fancy among the names with three wins from five starts this year. The Director’s Cap will be the first Quarter Horse stakes event of the new season.

The Thoroughbreds will also share the spotlight with the running of The Multnomah Falls Stakes at a distance of five and one half furlongs worth $10,000 added.

The Multnomah is for Fillies and Mares, three year olds and upward and will be the first Filly and Mare stakes event of the season. Ila View may hold the class edge over a list of 16 nominated for The Multnomah after the four-year-old filly won a $25,000 claiming dash at Emerald Downs this past Summer.

Iwannabeadivatoo was a salty rival this year at Auburn as well with two wins among $15,000 and $18,000 claiming company. Though encountering lower claiming rivals than some of her counterparts, Formal Choice has had a late say throughout her 2017 campaign and could menace in The Multnomah should she make the program for the dance. First Heritage is also nominated after winning three races at Emerald Downs since arriving from Oaklawn Park & Churchill Downs.

Entries will close this Thursday for both Stakes races and the Monday card, post time Monday is 12 noon Pacific Time.

Portland Meadows announced that it will host Dollar Day at the Races, Sunday, October 22nd featuring $1 Draft Beer, $1 Hot Dogs, $1 Soft Drinks, $1 Programs and $10 free play with new Reward Member sign up (see details at the track for new Reward Member sign ups).

As always, admission and parking are free at Portland Meadows.
