PHOENIX, AZ—OCTOBER 26, 2017—A pair of Quarter Horse stakes, topped by the 350-yard, $10,000-added AQRA President’s Open Futurity, headline Turf Paradise’s eight-race program on Sunday.
Fastest qualifier Dominate This, an undefeated son of Dominyun, drew post 2 and will be ridden by Martin Osuna. Trained by Jose Badilla Sr. for owners Angel Hernandez and Jorge Herrera, the gelding is coming off of a 1 1/4-length victory in the third of three trials on October 15.
Other contenders include A & C Racing and Roping’s Skinny Kyni, a homebred stakes-placed Winners Version filly trained by Tyler Gibbs. Skinny Kyni has earned $27,949 from six outs in four states, and her resume includes a second-place finish in the 350-yard, $104,000 Bitterroot Futurity (R) at Sandy Downs in Idaho on June 24.
Skinny Kyni drew post 5 and will be ridden by Eddie S. Garcia.

A full field of 10 Arizona-bred 2-year-olds has been entered back in Sunday’s 350-yard, $10,250 AQRA Futurity (R).
Angel Valenzuela’s Texas Tornadoe, a Texas Icon filly trained by Raul Valenzuela, has won both of her outs since she was claimed for $6,250 at Los Alamitos on July 15. A finalist in the April 30, 300-yard Desert Classic Futurity (R) at Turf Paradise, Texas Tornadoe is coming off of a neck victory as the 3-5 favorite in the first of two AQRA Futurity trials on October 15.
Texas Tornadoe drew post 2 and will be ridden by Andres Osuna.
