OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 5, 2018—A total of 189 Oklahoma-bred 2-year-olds has been entered in this weekend’s Remington Park Futurity (RG2) trials at Remington Park.

Eleven 330-yard heats will be contested on Friday and Saturday, starting at 6 p.m. (CDT) each night.

Bella Vista Farms’ Jeaniologi, a sorrel daughter of Dominyun and a $17,000 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale, will be ridden by Mario Delgado for trainer Eddie Lee Willis from post 5 in the ninth trial on Friday. Jeaniologi made her debut at Remington Park on March 17, as the filly won a 250-yard maiden-special-weight dash by a half of a length in :13.10.

Another promising 2-year-old entered in Friday’s trials, VF Jedi Returns, is a sorrel son of High Rate Of Return trained by Dustin Cox for owner Julio Contreras, who acquired the gelding for $9,700 at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale. VF Jedi Returns made his debut at Remington on March 18, winning a 250-yard maiden-special-weight race by three-quarters of a length in :13.28.

VF Jedi Returns drew post 6 and will be ridden by G.R. Carter Jr.

Saturday’s trials are headed by Cappafeyin, a homebred Capo de Capi gelding owned by Dee Raper and Fred Helmuth. The 6-5 morning-line favorite in the second heat, Cappafeyin is coming off of a one-length victory in a 250-yard maiden-special-weight dash for Oklahoma-breds on March 9, as he covered the distance in :13.16.

The five fastest qualifiers from each night of trials will meet in the $270,000-added Remington Park Futurity final on April 21.
