Nine New Mexico-Breds Entered in Jimmy Drake Stakes

FARMINGTON, NM—MAY 21, 2018—Nine New Mexico-bred aged sprinters have been entered in Friday’s 400-yard, $40,000 Jimmy Drake Stakes (RG3) at SunRay Park.
David Bloomer’s Mamacita Cartel, the 5-2 morning-line favorite, won both of his starts during the Sunland Park meet, including a 350-yard second-level allowance/optional claiming ($25,000) dash on April 6. An earner of $65,937 from 10 outs, the 4-year-old Big Daddy Cartel is trained by Cynthia Gonzalez.
Mamacita Cartel drew post 6 and will be ridden by Edgar Martinez.
