OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 27, 2018—Hot Dam Bam A Lam, a two-time winner during the current Remington Park meet, is one of Oklahoma-bred 3-year-olds entered in Monday’s 350-yard $50,000 Jack Brooks Stakes (R) at Remington Park.

Trained by Donnie Strickland for owner Gene Cox, Hot Dam Bam A Lam is a gelded son of Captain Courage. The homebred gelding will be shortening in distance off of his third-place finish, 1 1/4 lengths behind winner DF AJ Green Leaves, in the 400-yard, $317,000 Remington Park Derby (RG3) on April 21.

Andrew Samaniego will ride Hot Dam Bam A Lam from the rail post.

Other contenders include Donald Cavenaugh’s Weetonas Lafawn, a stakes-winning daughter of Valiant Hero trained by Clint Crawford. Weetonas Lafawn has earned $36,884 from two outs this year, and her season resume includes a three-quarter length victory at odds of 28-1 in the 350-yard, $66,000 Mr Master Bug Stakes (R) on April 21.

Weetonas Lafawn drew post 10 and will be ridden by G.R. Carter Jr.

Also on Monday, eight aged Oklahoma-bred sprinters have been entered in the 400-yard, $65,500 Boyd Morris Memorial Stakes (R).

Valiant Rogue, a 5-year-old Valiant Hero gelding trained by Jimmy Padgett for owner Wyok Ranch LLC, will be facing state breds off of his neck victory in the 300-yard, $50,000 Bob Moore Memorial Stakes (G2) on April 21. Valiant Rogue drew post 4 and will be ridden by Jose Alvarez.

Two divisions of the FL Lady Bug Stakes (R) for Oklahoma-bred juveniles will be contested on Monday. In the first division, morning-line favorite HR Desirable drew post 5 and will be ridden by Agustin Silva for trainer R.L. “Rick” Robinson. A gelded son of Desirio owned by Eric Sierra, John Yamiguchi, and Kathy Robinson, HR Desirable has won two of his three starts, including a 330-yard, $21,000 first-level allowance dash at Remington Park on April 29.

The second division is headed by James Sills’ JS History Lesson, a homebred son of champion FDD Dynasty trained by Eddie Willis. The gelding has earned $52,858 from three outs this year, and his two wins include a nose victory at odds of 10-1 in the 330-yard, $66,000 Laico Bird Stakes (R) on a sloppy and sealed track on April 21. JS History Lesson drew post 2 and will be ridden by Jimmy Brooks.
