FARMINGTON, NM—JUNE 14, 2018—Wallace Johnson’s Shes Got Fire, a Utah-bred daughter of Corona Cartel trained by Justin Joiner, is the 5-2 morning-line choice for Sunday’s 350-yard, $96,589 Four Corners Futurity at SunRay Park.
The fastest qualifier, Shes Got Fire made her debut with a wire-to-wire, 1 1/4-length victory in the last of four trials on June 1. The filly is out of Separate Fire, a 9-year-old daughter of Walk Thru Fire and the sport’s champion 2-year-old filly in 2011.
Shes Got Fire drew post 9 and will be ridden by Felipe Garcia Luna. Her nine opponents include Vincente Contreras’ JMF Dasher, the second-fastest qualifier. Trained by Jose F. Gonzalez Sr., the son of champion Tempting Dash has won two of four starts and has earned $21,321, and the sorrel gelding was a finalist in the April 14, 300-yard West Texas Futurity (G2) at Sunland Park.
JMF Dasher drew post 3 and will be ridden by Alejandro Medellin.
