LOS ALAMITOS, CA—JULY 7, 2018—Stablemates Royaltys Authority and Kissed By An Eagle return to action on Saturday night with their eyes on the Los Alamitos winner’s circle.

The stakes winning geldings are trained by Roman Figueroa, who’ll saddle Royaltys Authority in the Grade 3, $20,000 Independence Day Handicap in the featured eighth race and the Grade 1 stakes placed standout Kissed By An Eagle in the sixth race, which is a $11,325 allowance test.

A total of eight races will be contested on Saturday with first post set for 6 p.m.

Owned by S & S Horses, Royaltys Authority has won each of his last three starts, including a half-length victory in the Kaweah Bar Handicap in his most recent start on May 5. The gelding by Royaltys Choice began his current streak with a 1-¼ length victory against $25,000 claimers before posting a 1-½ length win versus $50,000 claimers. Ruben Lozano will pilot the winner of $94,658.

The field to the 300-yard Independence Day will also feature Lucky Seven Ranch’s Lotta Blues Man, a Grade 1 winner in 2016, who exits a very troubled fifth in his trial to the Vessels Maturity.

Duck Dash N Go, a two-time local stakes winner in 2017 and an allowance winner in her last start here on June 8, will also be in action in the Independence Day. The sizzling quick Precious Dominique and the talented gelding My Favorite Check, a top three finisher in 20 of 23 career starts, will complete the field.

Mark and Peggy Brown’s Kissed By An Eagle, a lifetime winner of $334,613, will make his first start since running fourth to BH Lisas Boy in the Grade 1 Brad McKinzie Winter Championship on February 11.

The Idaho-bred was second in the Grade 2 Southern California Derby, third in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Super Derby, and fourth in the Grade 2 Golden State Derby during a successful last year. The eight-time winner will face five others in the 330-yard event.

Another notable runners back in action on Saturday is the Thoroughbred Miss Loujean, who was bred via embryo transfer to top Quarter Horse sire Kiddy Up in the spring. Miss Loujean won three of her last four starts prior to her time in the breeding shed.
