Rich TQHA Sale Futurity Headlines Saturday Stakes Double Bill at Retama

SELMA, TX—JULY 25, 2018—A stakes doubleheader, topped by the 350-yard, $479,196 TQHA Sale Futurity (RG3), headlines Saturday’s 10-race card at Retama Park.

Jesse Hernandez’s Dashingwithnorate, a stakes-placed son of High Rate Of Return trained by Angel Sanchez, drew post 7 and will be ridden by Jose I. Martinez in the TQHA Sale Futurity, which this year will offer a stakes-record purse. The sorrel gelding has won two of three starts and has banked $12,712, with his lone defeat being a third-place finish in the 330-yard, $44,000 Sam Houston Juvenile Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park on April 28.

Fastest qualifier Coronas On The Coast, has won his last two starts, including the seventh of 11 trials on July 13. The gelded son of Special Royal Corona drew post 3 and will be ridden by Everardo Rodriguez for owner A and E Stables and trainer Martin Rodriguez.

Trained by Rolando Almanza for Elite Oilfield Services, Thecartelofmiracle ended his 2-year-old campaign with a neck victory at odds of 13-1 in the 400-yard, $874,000 Texas Classic Futurity (G1) at Lone Star Park. The Tough And Good gelding has since earned $37,801 from five outs, and his resume includes a third-place finish, one length behind winner Stone Cold Leader, in the 400-yard, $212,000 Firecracker Derby at Delta Downs on June 30.

Thecartelofmiracle will be ridden by Jorge Linares from post 6.
