SHAKOPEE, MN—AUGUST 7, 2018—Bout Tree Fiddy, a homebred 4-year-old Ivory James gelding owned by Carry Allred and trainer Pat Swan, is the 7-2 morning-line favorite for Friday’s 350-yard, $25,000 Skip Zimmerman Stakes at Canterbury Park.
Bout Tree Fiddy will be stretching out in distance off of his second-place finish, a head behind winner Ms Haulin Chic, in the 110-yard, $18,000 Dash In A Flash Stakes on July 14. The gelding has earned $22,007 from seven outs this year, and his season resume includes a third-place finish in the 440-yard, $49,000 Bank of America Canterbury Challenge Championship on the Fourth of July.
Bout Tree Fiddy drew post 6 and will be ridden by Brayan Velazquez. Other contenders include Thomas J. Scheckel’s Corona Springs, a 4-year-old daughter of Corona Cartel trained by Jason Olmstead. Corona Springs has won her last two starts, including the 400-yard, $35,000 AQHA Canterbury Distaff Challenge on July 4.
Corona Springs drew post 10 and will be ridden by Cristian Esqueda.

Jo Rice’s Hiclass Man, a homebred 5-year-old son of champion Brimmerton, has drawn post 6 and will be ridden by Brayan Velazquez for trainer Pat Swan. Hiclass Man is coming off of a wire-to-wire, one-length victory in an 870-yard, allowance-optional claiming race at Canterbury on July 14.
