CLAREMORE, OK—OCTOBER 25, 2018—Flashing Candy, a Grade 1-placed son of champion First Moonflash campaigned by PV Quarter Horse Farms LLC, is one of 80 state-bred juveniles entered in Sunday’s 350-yard Oklahoma Horsemen’s Association Mystery Futurity (RG3) trials at Will Rogers Downs.

Trained by Clint Crawford, Flashing Candy won one of his three starts during the Ruidoso Downs summer meet, and the gelding’s record includes a third-place finish in the 400-yard, $1-million Rainbow Futurity (G1) on July 22. Flashing Candy has earned $121,669 from six outs.

Flashing Candy drew post 10 and will be ridden by Omar Reyes in the last of eight trials.

Marili Mendez’s Saratoga Returns, a stakes winner during the Remington Park meet, drew post 9 and will be ridden by James Flores for trainer R.L. “Rick” Robinson in the fourth heat. A gray daughter of High Rate Of Return, the filly will be making her first start since May 28, when she scored a neck victory in the second division of the 330-yard, $70,000 FL Lady Bug Stakes (R) on May 28.

Robinson will also send out Dynasty First Class, a Grade 3-placed FDD Dynasty filly owned by Dunn Ranch. Dynasty First Class is coming off of a second-place finish, a half of a length behind winner Rappid, in the 350-yard, $222,000 Speedhorse Futurity (G3) at Fair Meadows at Tulsa on July 28.

Dynasty First Class drew the rail post and will be ridden by Andrew Samaniego in the seventh heat.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the November 10, $75,000-added OHA Mystery Futurity final.
