Jess Send It Looks To Deliver In Wild West Futurity On Sunday At Los Alamitos

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—OCTOBER 27, 2018—After posting an impressive win from post number two in the trials to the Wild West Futurity, Keith Nellesen's Jess Send It will look to repeat that performance when she starts from that same post in the second richest running ever of the Wild West on Sunday at Los Alamitos.

First post time for the nine race card is 5:35 p.m. with the Wild West set as the final race at 9:19 p.m.

Ten juveniles will be in action in the Wild West, which features a $136,850 purse. Since its inaugural running in 2010, only the 2015 edition has featured a bigger purse than this year’s Wild West, which is a stakes open to horses that have previously raced in the Intermountain and Northwest regions, plus Arizona, Nevada or Canada.

To be ridden by Ramon Sanchez for trainer Paul Jones, Jess Send It is the 9-5 morning line favorite and enters the final after dominating her October 7th trial by 3/4 lengths in the fastest qualifying time of the night of :17.64.

She also won the $77,000 Hadley/Giles Futurity at Weber Downs in Utah on May 19 and now goes after her fourth victory of the year. If her trial victory is an indication, Jess Send It could be the next big star to come out of the Wild West.

Past winners of this 350-yard race have included Zoomin For Spuds, the 2016 winner of the Champion of Champions, and Moonie Blues, who earlier this month won the PCQHRA Breeders Futurity.

Sired by Corona Cartel and out of the graded stakes placed mare Jess Send Me, Jess Send It is a full sister to the Grade 1 stakes placed runner Jess Macho Corona. He finished third in the Grade 1 Ed Burke Million Futurity back in June and most recently posted the second fastest qualifying time to the Grade 1 Golden State Million Futurity final to be held next Sunday night. Turner Farms is the breeder of both Jess Send It and Jess Macho Corona.

Other top challengers in the Wild West figure to be Ladys A Cartel and Arizona Favorite, the first and second place finishers, respectively, of the Pot O’ Gold Futurity at Sun Downs in Kennewick, Washington on May 6.

Arizona Favorite, by Favorite Cartel, could be one to watch after he flew late to win his trial to the Wild West by 3/4 lengths.

Other trial winners that could also contend are Dan Moon's Jodee B Valiant, who previously competed in the Idaho Cup Futurity at Sandy Downs and Cowboys Futurity at Emerald Downs, and KR Hi Five, who was part of the Hadley/Giles final.
