PORTLAND, OR—DECEMBER 22, 2018—Two Quarter Horse stakes races will highlight the Sunday program at Portland Meadows with the running of The Memorial worth $10,000-added for Oregon bred 3-year-olds at a distance of 350 yards. The $11,000-added Holiday Handicap at 870 yards makes up the second half of the double feature for 3-year-olds and upward.

In the Memorial, Okey Dokey Road will look to win his fourth consecutive race at Portland Meadows as he attempts to remain undefeated on the season here.

Fresh off of a win in the Portland Meadows Fall Derby for Owner Sig Aumueller, the 3-year-old son of Okey Dokey Dale will try to improve his record to five wins from ten starts lifetime for trainer John Harris.

Regular rider Robert Burney will again guide Okey Dokey Road from post position eight.

CM Once Ina Bluemoon figures to be the main rival after getting within a neck of Okey Dokey Road in their last meeting. Trainer Nick Lowe will send jockey Alex Anaya for his first trip atop the 3-year-old son of Ivory James in the Sunday dash. Lowe co-owns the gelding with breeder Randy Dickerson.

The Holiday Handicap will be the second race of the day at 870 yards worth $11,000 added as Hes A Bugin totes the high weight of 127 lbs.

Owned by Gilberto Madrigal and trained by Jose Gomez, the 6-year-old son of Sixthirteen (TB) will be ridden by Robert Burney from post-position four.

With a record of two wins from two starts at Portland Meadows in 2018, Hes A Bugin has won 10 races lifetime from 31 starts as he looks to build on his $42,000 earnings.

Hes A Bugin was recently fifth in The $100,000 Cox Distance Challenge Championship (G1) at Los Alamitos last month at 870 yards, a distance that seems to fit his style. The brown gelding races for owner Jose Rosales Gomez.

Eleven-year-old Eyes Movin looks to rebound after a troubled season debut on opening day at Portland and makes his first appearance since in The Holiday Handicap.

Owner Donald David Young also conditions the stakes winning Washington-bred son of Mr Eye Opener. Leonel Camacho-Flores is riding.
