OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 6, 2019—Remington Park will kick-off their 2019 American Quarter Horse meeting Thursday with a 12 race card that includes seven trials for the $255,750 Grade 3 Oklahoma Derby.

Last year's Oklahoma Futurity(G2) winner Long Wagon Ho returns as the 6-5 morning-line favorite in the sixth trial (Race 8) Friday at Remington Park. Trainer Roberto Treto will saddle the son of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon for owner Rosa Urquidi.

A winner of three of four starts at 2, Long Wagon Ho suffered his only loss in the Grade 1 $1 million Texas Classic Futurity in his final 2-year-old start on November 18th. Jockey Alfredo Triana, Jr. will be back in the saddle from the outside rail (post 9).

Last year's leading AQHA Racing breeder Grant Farms, LLC bred the $208,297 earner in Louisiana from the Strawfly Special mare The Long Straw. Long Wagon Ho posted an :11:28 220 yard bullet work on February 19th at Remington Park in preparations for the Oklahoma Derby trials.

Firecracker Futurity(G2) third-place finisher Throw Th Dice will start in Race 8 from the 2 post for owner Palomino Trucking, Inc. and trainer Ruben Soto. Edwuin Lujan ride the earner of nearly $50,000 from only four starts in 2018.

Matthew Eck's Speedhorse Futurity(G3) winner Rappid (2-1) will start from post 5 in the final trial (race 9). Also trained by Eck, the Ivory James gelding will be ridden by Alfredo Triana, Jr. Bobby D. Cox bred the grade 3 winner in Oklahoma from the Azoom mare Azoomion With Jessie. He has compiled a (7) 2-2-2 record and banked $107,784 last year.

Race 9 will be a Speedhorse Futurity(G3) rematch with third-place finisher Redneckedness starting from post 2 for owner Good Memories LLC and trainer Michael Gunter. Gonzalo Valles, Jr. rides the daughter of leading sire Apollitical Jess from the Stoli mare And Poof Shes Gone. The two-time winner bred in Arkansas by Belinda Shaw will be making her first start since her third-place effort in the Speedhorse.

Milene Kwiecien's stakes winner Stripper Dust will start in the trial 4 (race 6) for trainer Jason Pascoe. A daughter of multiple stakes sire Louisiana Senator, Stripper Dust won the Ajax Downs Bonus Challenge Futurity and was second in the Alex Picov Futurity last season. Ridden by jockey Cerapio Figueroa and bred in Alabama by Paris Wixon, from the Dash To Fame mare Miranda Fame, Stripper Dust has compiled a (8) 2-2-1 record and banked $40,693.

Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity finalist Vf Jedi Returns will start in trial 4 for owner Juilo Contreras and trainer Samuel Valdivia. The three-time winning son of multiple stakes sire High Rate Of Return will start from post 2 under jockey Juan Pulido. Bred by Victory Farms, from the Corona Cartel mare Corona Couture, Vf Jedi Returns as earned nearly $99,000.

Coming off a win in the October 27 Miss Roxie Little Futurity at Indiana Grand, Dominyun Cartel will start in the third trial (race 5) for owner-breeder Brian Gunder and trainer Bobby Martinez. Damian Martinez ride the son of Dominyun from the Corona Cartel mare Dreamers Cartel. The Indiana-bred winner of three of six starts last season has earned $117,805.

Texas Classic Futurity(G1) finalist Wushocker starts from post 2 in this trial for owners Denis and Julie Schoenhofer. Ruben Soto trains the Jess Louisiana Blue gelding out of the First Down Dash mare Requestalove. Nancy McCoy bred the sorrel gelding in Kansas. Mario Delgado has been named to ride the $48,446 earner.
