OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 7, 2019—As many as 13 Remington Park training race winners have been entered in Saturday's rich Grade 2 Oklahoma Futurity trials at Remington Park.

First post for the 12 300 yard trial races will get underway 6 p.m. (CST) with a purse of $10,000.

The ten fastest qualifiers will return to the Oklahoma City raceway on Saturday, March 23 to vie for the winner's share of a $396,650 purse, of which $100,000 is added. The second ten fastest will be preferred invites to the $50,000 Guaranteed Oklahoma Juvenile that will also run back on March 23.

The oldest continually renewed stakes in Quarter Horse racing history is the Oklahoma Futurity. It was inaugurated in 1948 and was won by Leota W, owned by Bud Warren of Perry.

The Oklahoma Futurity for 2-year-olds and the Oklahoma Derby for 3-year-olds bounced around the state for years running in Tulsa, Pawnee, Pawhuska, and Enid before getting a "permanent" location in Raton, New Mexico in 1965. It was run a La Mesa Park in Raton for more than decade. Following a court battle, Oklahoma got their race back where it was contested at Blue Ribbon Downs before moving to Remington Park in 2006.

Heading the 117 two-year-old hopefuls on Saturday will be Reliance Ranches' homebred Totally Free, who posted one of the fastest training races of the season. . . :13.65 seconds, at Remington Park on Valentine's Day.

Trainer Mike Robbins will saddled the brown filly by last year's #2 Leading First-Crop sire of Money Earners Coronado Cartel. Totally Free's dam is the unplaced Mr Jess Perry half-sister to grade 1-placed Fire And Corona and stakes-placed grade 1-finalist Check Out Corona. The second dam is the grade 2 winner Corona Cartel mare Corona Music.

Stormy Smith has been named aboard Totally Free who will start from post 4 in Race 3 on Saturday.

Reliance and Robbins will also start another Coronado Cartel 2-year-old in Race 2, Always Charging, winner of a Remington Park training race in :13.84 seconds on February 14. The $23,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate, out of the First Down Dash mare Charm Dance, is a half-brother to stakes winner and grade 1-placed The Charm of Corona. This is the family of champion 2-year-old gelding Leading Spirit.

In the final trial (race 12) trainer Megan Marsh will saddle the Oklahoma homebred Aj Winzet for owner-breeder Rockin' J East LLC. The son of leading sire Apollitical Jess, out of the Okey Dokey Dale mare Okey Dokey Winzet, posted the second fastest training race victory on February 14 when he completed 250 yards in :13.69 seconds.

Jockey Tanner Thedford will be aboard the colt from the family of stakes horses Arbeka Raincloud, Arbeka Lobo. This is the family of stakes winners Fishers Favorite, Garland Stephens and Mr Eye Opener. Aj Winzet will race from post 2.

Leading trainer Clinton Crawford will saddle Brenda Riswig's homebred Sizzling Fajita from the inside rail in the seventh trial. Esgar Ramirez has been named to ride the Apollitical Jess filly out of Anita Fajita. The Corona Cartel mare is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Jd Baccarat, stakes winner Political Debut and multiple stakes winner Tickle Ur Fancy.

Sizzling Fajita won her training race start in :13.70 seconds at Remington Park February 13th.

Another 2-year-old to watch will be the first starter by champion and first-crop sire Kiss My Hocks. Kissin Kash, a $20,000 Heritage Place Select Yearling Sale graduate, will start in the third trial for trainer and Luz Chavira and owner Georgia Chavira.

Kissin Kash is the first foal from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Pyc Diamond, a half-sister to RG3-placed Azoom Diamond and stakes-placed Krashin Cash. Daniel Torres has been named to the ride the bay gelding who posted a :13.85 training race win at Remington Park on February 13th. Kissin Kash will race from post 6.
