Top Distance Horses Face Off In Rossmoor Handicap On Saturday

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—MARCH 16, 2019—Dan Wilson's razor sharp Run Raging Rhino Run and Ed Allred's always tough Bound To Bet— a pair of top notch Quarter Horses around the turn — will face some of the toughest Thoroughbreds on the grounds when they square off in the $15,000 Rossmoor Handicap at 870 yards on Saturday at Los Alamitos.

Run Raging Rhino Run finished second to Rule He Will in the Snowbound Superstar Handicap at 870 yards back on December 9 and then won the Barbra B Handicap at 550 yards.

In his most recent start, the son ofFDD Dynasty set the pace in an 870-yard test before finishing second to the tough Thoroughbred Oil in a tremendous race on February 23. Minor Arana will ride Run Raging Rhino Run for trainer Felix Gonzalez.

Lorenzo Ruiz will saddle the solid Thoroughbreds Great Ma Neri and St. Reno in this race. Great Ma Neri has won her last two starts by daylight, while St. Reno won at Los Alamitos during the daytime on December 15 and then at night on January 5. He recently finished third at Santa Anita.

Leading Thoroughbred rider Edgar Payeras will pilot St. Reno. Candy Zip, second in a race at Santa Anita on February 9, returns to Los Alamitos for this race, while Bound To Bet will go after his sixth local victory. Eight-time winner El Koreano will complete the field.
