OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 19, 2019—Remington Park’s Saturday program will feature eight stakes races, topped by the 330-yard, $895,210 Remington Park Futurity (RG1), and the 400-yard, $319,975 Remington Park Derby (RG3).

Uptowne Babe, the overall fastest qualifier, heads a field of 10 Oklahoma-bred 2-year-olds entered back in the Remington Park Futurity, the meet’s second richest race. A homebred daughter of champion Mr Jess Perry trained by Guillermo Valdivia for owner Sam W. Green, Uptowne Babe broke her maiden with a clear 2 3/4-length victory in the second of 11 trials on April 6, the second night of trials.

Uptowne Babe drew post 3 and will be ridden by Rolando Raudales.

Lota Shakin Goin On, the fastest qualifier on night 1 of the trials and the overall second fastest qualifier, will start from post 7 under champion jockey Ricky Ramirez. Ramirez picked up the mount after Remington's leading rider James Flores chose to ride Liarliar Hocksonfire back in the final.

The homebred son of leading third-crop sire sire Lota Pyc races for owner-trainer Gerald W. Reed and Whiting Ranch. Reed Land & Cattle Co LLC is the breeder.

Also on Saturday, champion Apocalyptical Jess is one of 10 state-bred sophomores entered back in the Remington Park Derby.

Last year’s champion 2-year-old gelding, Apocalyptical Jess made his season debut with a neck victory in the second of six trials on April 7. Trained by Trey Wood for owner Bill S. Robbins, Apocalyptical Jess has earned $1,549,032 from seven races, and his four wins include a three-quarter length score in last year’s 440-yard, $3-million All American Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs.

Apocalyptical Jess drew post 3 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez.

Six other stakes will be contested at Remington Park on Saturday: the 350-yard, $68,000-added Mr Master Bug Stakes (R) for Oklahoma-bred 3-year-olds; the 330-yard, $68,000 Laico Bird Stakes (R) for Oklahoma-bred 2-year-olds; the 400-yard, $100,000-added Sooner State Stakes (RG1) for Oklahoma-bred 3-year-olds & older; the 350-yard, $83,000-added Easy Date Stakes (R) for Oklahoma-bred fillies & mares 3-year-olds & older; the 330-yard, $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile (R) for Oklahoma-bred 2-year-olds; and the 300-yard, $50,000-added Bob Moore Memorial Stakes (G2) for 3-year-olds & older.

The Sooner State Stakes is topped by Political Attraction, a 4-year-old Apollitical Jess gelding trained by R.L. “Rick” Robinson for owners Rogelio Marquez Jr. and Kathy Robinson. Political Attraction will be stretching out in distance off of his three-quarter length victory as the 11-10 favorite in the 350-yard, $50,000 Eastex Stakes (G2) on March 23. James Flores will ride Political Attraction from post 5.
