PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ—JUNE 6, 2019—Larry Stark’s Jess A Cowboy, a homebred 7-year-old son of the Mr Jess Perry stallion Dejon, drew post 10 for the first division of Saturday’s 350-yard, $15,000 Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes at Arizona Downs.

Jess A Cowboy will be shortening in distance off of his third-place finish, three-quarters of a length behind winner Pirate Coves Hero, in the 440-yard, $35,000 Bank of America Turf Paradise Challenge Stakes on April 28. The gelding will be ridden by Oscar Andrade Jr. for trainer Matt Fales.

Twenty-three sprinters, including three also-eligible entries, were entered in the Wayne Brasher Memorial, resulting in the race being split into two divisions. The complete lineup for the first division, in post position order including jockey assignments:

The second division is headed by Discrete, a 5-year-old Tr Dasher mare trained by Francis Meza for owner Ramon Sebastian Chavarria Delgado. Discrete ended her 4-year-old campaign with a three-quarter length victory in a 350-yard, $25,240 non-winners-of-two allowance dash at Sunland Park on December 28. Discrete drew post 2 and will be ridden by Jake Samuels.
