Beehive Futurity Headlines Stakes Tripleheader at Laurel Brown

SOUTH JORDAN, UT—JUNE 26, 2019—Centers Valiant Hero, a gelded son of One Valiant Hero and the fastest qualifier, is one of 10 2-year-olds entered back in Friday’s 350-yard, $80,127 Beehive Futurity (R) at Laurel Brown Racetrack near Salt Lake City.

Trained by Jorge Sanchez-Gonzalez for owners Mayra Sanchez and Hernando Perez, Centers Valiant Hero made his local debut with a one-length victory in the last of five trials on June 14. The gelding has earned $24,790 from five outs while racing in Oklahoma and Utah.

Centers Valiant Hero drew post 5 and will be ridden by Julian Serrano.

Sanchez-Gonzalez will also sent out Fleeting Funds for owner Oscar Olivas Najera. A gray son of Zoomin For Bux and the second-fastest qualifier, the colt is coming off of a 2 1/4-length victory in his Beehive Futurity trial.

Fleeting Funds drew post 3 and will be ridden by Armando Alvidrez.

Also on Friday, fastest qualifier Pappajeto heads a field of 10 3-year-olds entered back in the 350-yard, $20,295 Utah QHRA Open Derby. Racing for David and Linda Burt and trained by David Burt, Pappajeto has won two of six starts and has earned $2,920 while racing exclusively in the Intermountain region. The gelded son of Pappasito drew post 7 and will be ridden by Daniel Carrillo.

Roberto Ortiz’s Fooses Tat, a California-bred daughter of champion Foose, will be seeking her first stakes victory in Friday’s 330-yard, $20,510 South Valley Futurity. The fastest qualifier, Fooses Tat has banked $16,495 from four starts, and the filly’s record includes a second-place finish in the June 1, $77,475 Hadley/Giles Futurity at Weber Downs. Fooses Tat drew post 8 and will be ridden by Daniel Carrillo for trainer Lazaro Mendoza.
