Jess Doin Time, Apollitical Mogul Rematch in Canterbury Park Derby
Fastest qualifier Apollitical Mogul will face the likes of Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity winner Jess Doin Time in Sunday's $78,050 Canterbury Park Derby.

SHAKOPEE, MN —JULY 5, 2019—Jess Doin Time, winner of the 2018 Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity, returns on Sunday, July 7 in the 400 yard $78,050 Canterbury Park Derby.

The Apollitical Jess filly will meet fastest qualifier Apollitical Mogul again; Apollitical Mogul was second to Jess Doin Time in the NCQHRA Futurity last summer at Canterbury.

Jess Doin Time is a multiple stakes winner and is the high money earner in the field with $112,029 earned in her nine lifetime starts. In addition to her two stakes wins, she qualified for the Heritage Place Derby (G2) at Remington Park this spring.

Apollitcal Mogul, also by Apollitical Jess, has won three of her last four starts and was third in the Valley Junction Futurity at Prairie Meadows last fall. She won her trial for the Canterbury Park Derby, the last of four, in 19.720; the fast trial produced fourth fastest qualifier Spy For the Senate and fifth fastest qualifier Its No Sin to Win.

Both fillies are trained by Jason Olmstead. Stacy Charette-Hill won this race last year with Disco Wagon, this year, she brings two horses to the final, including morning line favorite Hr Back in the Day. The Freighttrain B gelding won his trial as the sixth fastest qualifier and is undefeated in two starts at Canterbury Park.

The $78,050 Canterbury Park Derby is Race 8 on Sunday at Canterbury Park. Estimated post time is 4:22 pm ET.

Live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing continues through Saturday, September 14, 2019. The 70-day race meet offers racing on Thursday and Friday evenings at 6:00 pm CT and Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 12:45 pm CT. in June and July. Quarter horse racing is held at the beginning of each race card.
