ALTOONA, IA—AUGUST 16, 2019Ferrari James, a horse for the course, heads a field of 10 sprinters entered in Prairie Meadows’ opening-day feature, Saturday’s 400-yard, $50,000 Keokuk Stakes (G3).

Trained by Manuel Campos for owner Alfredo Botello, Ferrari James is coming off of a head victory in a 350-yard, allowance-optional claiming ($16,000) dash at Canterbury Park on July 11. The 6-year-old Ivory James gelding has won 12 of 32 races, including eight of 10 at Prairie Meadows, and he has earned $296,860.

Ferrari James has banked $173,261 at Prairie Meadows, and he has won the last two runnings of the Keokuk Stakes. The gelding drew post 8 and will be ridden by Ramiro Garcia.
