RUIDOSO, NM—AUGUST 17, 2019—A foal in utero by champion aged stallion Moonin The Eagle from the grade 1 winning First Down Dash mare All About Ease topped the 2019 Ruidoso Select Foal-In-Utero Sale on Saturday for $55,000.

Valeriano Racing Stables purchased Hip 227, a half-sibling to 11 black type runners, including Ed Burke Million Futurity(G1) winner Chazaq and Rainbow Futurity(G1) winner Zoomin With Ease, from the consignment of Bobby D. Cox.

Ruidoso Horse Sale Company reported 20 of 20 foals-in-utero were sold for gross receipts of $396,500, an 11% increase over last year when 18 sold for $356,700. The average of $19,825 was nearly even with a year ago's $19,817. The median fell slightly from $15,000 in 2018 to $13,500 this year.

West Texas Racing paid $52,000 Hip 226, a Chicks Beduino half-sibling to champion Five Bar Cartel and grade 1 winner Fly Bar Special. Dr. Rick Beck consigned the foal-in-utero out of grade 1 winner Five Bar Molly by Dash Ta Fam.

Saturday's third high-selling foal-in-utero is a full-sibling to Grade 1 winner Terrific Energy. Scott and Monica Jones purchased Hip 222, by Mr Jess Perry out of First Down Energy by First Down Dash from Bielau Oaks for $42,000.

West Texas Racing Partners was the leading buyer with three purchases grossing $103,000, while Bobby Simmons paid $59,000 for three.

Dr. Rick Beck was the leading consignor or agent with seven for $130,500, Zerlotti Genetics, Ltd. had six for $98,500 and Bobby D. Cox sold three for $63,500.
