$14,470 Pick 6 Carryover, Champagne Lane Set For Friday Night

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—SEPTEMBER 12, 2019—Derby finalists Ladys A Cartel, No Telling and Jess Motions will be joined by La Pacifica Handicap winner Striver, the ultra-quick Easily Lethal and multiple allowance winner Anas Image when these 3-year-old fillies enter the starting for the $15,000 Champagne Lane Handicap at 350 on Friday night at Los Alamitos. First post is 7 p.m. (PDT).

The racing program will also feature a Pick 6 Carryover of $14,470 with the sequence starting in race two. With the new money expected to be wagered on Friday, the total Pick 6 pool could be around $60,000.

Jorge Carmona’s Ladys A Cartel will make her first start since a sixth place finish to Powerful Favorite in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Derby on February 9. The Five Bar Cartel filly finished the race with promise and was not far from a fifth place finish. p> She had previously raced in three other stakes races at Los Alamitos, including the $137,000 Wild West Futurity. She also won the Pot O’ Gold Futurity at Sun Downs last year.

Mark and Mary Parsons’ No Telling will come in after running third in allowance event for fillies. The daughter of Walk Thru Fire finished fifth in the Grade 3 La Primera Del Año Derby on March 30 and also competed in the Governor’s Cup Derby.

Janet McKinnerney’s Jess Motions ran a tremendous race in her last outing when finishing fourth in the Grade 2 Golden State Derby on August 18. She had a troubled start and never challenged in the La Primera final earlier this year.

Mark and Peggy Brown’s Easily Lethal won at 110 yards in her last outing and should have no trouble challenging at this longer distance. Juan Carlos Chavez’s Striver is a proven stakes performer with two stakes wins already this year and earnings of over $150,000.

Anas Image will come in after running fourth against the opposite sex in the Jens List Memorial Stakes on July 27.
