Professor G's Notebook For Friday's Los Alamitos Races 6 and 8

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—MAY 27, 2020— Professor G at Los Alamitos takes a look at the four juveniles debuting on Friday night. Each runner’s description also includes a link to the video workout described below.

RACE 6: Maidens Fillies – 300 yards
#2 Registrant – May 9 :12.30 at 220 yards – Inside

Kiddy Up filly outworked the filly Pleased As Punch 12.3 to12.5. Registrant left the gate sharply and was striding out nicely right away. She was asked once right-handed, drifted in during the second half of the work, but continued to have the lead while finishing the work under a hand-ride. Registrant posted the 5th fastest of 20 drills on May 9.

#3 Too Sass For You – May 9 :12.50 – Outside

Worked from the outside as part of a 3-horse set on May 9 which also featured Keep Listening working from the middle and Cant Take A Joke working from the inside part of the gate. Too Sass For You worked evenly with Keep Listening in a time of :12.5. Too Sass For You broke in hard and jockey had to a grab a hold of the filly. Once she found her stride, Too Sass For You drifted to the outside. She was asked a couple of times in the second half of the work and she finished strongly to match strides with Keep Listening to the wire. Too Sass For You completed the drill with a good gallop out while recording the seventh fastest of 20 works.

RACE 8: Maidens at 300 yards #5 Lotta Blue Chrome – March 18 :12.30 at 220 yards – Outside

Colt by Favorite Cartel outworked recent maiden winner Constituent 12.3 to 12.6 on March 18. Lotta Blue Chrome flew out of the gate and showed outstanding quickness from there without being asked. He continued to sail on the lead while eventually floating to the inside during the late stages of the drill. He crossed the wire well ahead of Constituent while continuing to show good energy in his gallop out. This was the fastest of 28 drills on March 18. Lotta Blue Chrome returned to post the 2nd fastest of 12 works when outworking Trippys First Cartel 12.3 to 12.8 on April 30. The video of that work is not available.

#6 Bar Fighten – May 16 :12.70 – Outside

Worked evenly with Tell Foose in a time of :12.7 on May 16. Tell Foose is a half-brother to Harison, who broke his maiden on Sunday night. Bred in Arizona, Bar Fighten had a solid break and while running in a straight path on May 16. He continued to move evenly with Tell Foose, while showing a nice and smooth stride. He crossed the finish line a neck ahead of his rival and continued with a good gallop after the wire.
