One Famous Glass, Horse of the Year 2013, Returns to Ajax Downs

AJAX, ONT—JULY 8, 2020—One Famous Glass, the 2013 Horse of the Year at Ajax Downs is set to make a comeback to the races on Wednesday (July 15) for day six of the Quarter Horse season.

Now 10-years-old, One Famous Glass has not raced since the fall of 2018 and went to live a life of leisure on Hillerin Farm in Hillsburgh, owned by Carol and Bryn Robertson. Nicknamed 'Eagle' One Famous Glass has had a remarkable career on the track with 18 wins from 44 races for Carol and Jaime Robertson and Dr. Charles Hall.

The copper-colored gelding not only was the top horse in 2013 but did some of his best work in later years including 2017 when he defeated eventual champion Country Boy 123 in the Bank of America Challenge.

One Famous Glass has been helping train other racehorses on the Robertson's farm in the last year and been ridden by Carol and Bryn's 13-year-old grandson Cody most days. The gelding still has that competitive fire, however, and after trying a few workouts at Ajax, he's shown he is ready to go.

The champ will start from post 5 in the fourth race on July 15, a 300-yard event, and regular rider Tony Phillips will be on board.

First race post time on Wednesday is 12:55 p.m. (DDT).

Fans of Quarter Horse racing will get rewarded with 5% cash-back to their account when they wager $40 or more on Ajax Downs on July 15 through the betting platform, Horseplayer Interactive. Signing up for an account is easy and you will have access to a live feed of the races and plenty of free information on the horses.
