RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JULY 14, 2020—Rusty Allred’s Fernweh, an undefeated daughter of Favorite Cartel trained by Charles “Duke” Shults, is the 2-1 morning-line favorite for Saturday’s 440-yard, $315,740 Rainbow Oaks for 3-year-old fillies at Ruidoso Downs.

Fernweh has won all five of her races, including all three of her outs at Ruidoso Downs, and she has earned $545,918, of which $429,600 has been banked at Ruidoso. The filly’s resume includes a head victory as the odds-on choice in last year’s 350-yard, $1-million Ruidoso Futurity (G1), and a half-length victory as the 8-5 favorite in the April 18, 400-yard Remington Park Derby (RG2) for Oklahoma-bred 3-year-olds.

Fernweh drew post 4 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez.

Southern Wagon, a stakes-winning homebred Pyc Paint Your Wagon filly trained by Monty Arrossa for owner Dunn Ranch, drew post 7 and will be ridden by James Flores.
