Stakes Winners Cyber Monday, Whistle Stop Cafe Headline $1-Million Rainbow Futurity

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JULY 14, 2020—Stakes winners Cyber Monday and Whistle Stop Cafe are among the 10 2-year-olds entered back in Sunday’s 400-yard, $1-million Rainbow Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs.

Trained by Sergio Ibarra for owners LOS LLC and Abelardo F. Gallegos, Cyber Monday has won all three of his starts, including the 350-yard, $1-million Ruidoso Futurity (G1) on June 7, and he has earned $429,600. The Favorite Cartel colt was a $140,000 purchase at last year’s Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. Cyber Monday drew the rail post and will be ridden by Sergio Becerra Jr.

Whistle Stop Cafe is trained by Blane Wood for owner Whitmire Ranch. A $42,000 buy at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City, the gray daughter of Freighttrain B has also won all three of her starts while banking $40,518, and her early season resume includes a nose victory as the 3-1 favorite in the 350-yard, $100,000 Heritage Place Juvenile Stakes at Remington Park on May 30.

Whistle Stop Cafe drew post 7 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez.

Also on Sunday, stakes winner For The Irony heads the field entered in the 400-yard, $100,000 Rainbow Juvenile Invitational Stakes. Trained by Sergio Ibarra for owner Diamond Racing Stables, the gelded son of Valiant Hero and $20,000 yearling buy has won all three of his starts during the Ruidoso meet, including the 350-yard, $100,000 Ruidoso Juvenile Invitational Stakes on June 7. Sergio Becerra Jr. will ride For The Irony from post 3.
