Eleven Entered in Turf Paradise's Classy Sheikh Stakes

PHOENIX, AZ—JANUARY 27, 2021—Eleven runners, including one also-eligible entry, are entered in Friday’s 1,000-yard, $12,500 Classy Sheikh Stakes at Turf Paradise.

J Boy A, one of three Quarter Horses entered, is an 8-year-old Jess Zoomin gelding owned and trained by Thomas W. Gonzalez. J Boy A made his season debut with a half-length victory in second division of the the 870-yard, $12,500 Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes at Turf Paradise on January 8. The gelding drew post 3 and will be ridden by Alfredo Juarez Jr.

Other contenders include My Indian Warrior (TB), a son of Indian Firewater (TB) trained by Jose R. Gonzalez Jr. for owners 5 Star Racing LLC and Melequies Valdez, who claimed the bay gelding for $15,000 at Sunland Park on February 15, 2020. My Indian Warrior will be making his first start since November 11, when he ran third, three lengths behind winner Wheredoesthecashgo, in the 6-furlong, $50,000 New Mexico Cup Sprint Championship (R) at Zia Park.

My Indian Warrior drew the rail post and will be ridden by Luis A. Fuentes.

The Classy Sheikh Stakes is not recognized as an official stakes by the American Quarter Horse Association.
