Fourteen Trials Will Determine Field For Oklahoma Futurity At Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 3, 2021—The second race date of the 2021 Remington Park American Quarter Horse Season features 14 trials for the historic Oklahoma Futurity. The trials will start a special afternoon program on Monday, March 8 at 3pm (CST).

The longest-running futurity in Quarter Horse racing, the Oklahoma Futurity started in 1947. The finals for the 80th edition of the race will take place on Saturday, March 20. The trials on Monday will decide the field of 10 for the 300-yard race.

All the participants in the Oklahoma Futurity trials will be making their pari-mutuel racing debuts.

Remington Park will conclude the first three dates of racing on Tuesday, March 9 with a program featuring a pair of stakes races. The $68,000 Mighty Deck Three Stakes, for Oklahoma-breds, is a restricted Grade 2 event at 250 yards, and is the richest race on Tuesday. The Grade 3, $50,000 SLM Big Daddy Stakes will also be contested on Tuesday afternoon, for longer-distance runners going 550 yards. Racing on Tuesday will start at 3pm. All times are Central.
