2021 Back-to-Back Remington Park stakes winner Eagles Fly Higher will face a strong field in Saturday's $100,000 Sooner State Stakes (RG1) for Oklahoma-breds.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK-PRIL 15, 2021-Remington Park’s 12-race program on Saturday features eight stakes, including the 400-yard, $100,000 Sooner State Stakes (RG1) for Oklahoma-breds.

Eagles Fly Higher and Valiant Tiberias are among the nine aged runners entered in the Sooner State. A 5-year-old son of One Famous Eagle trained by Casey Black for owners Darling Farms and Valeriano Racing Stables LLC, Eagles Fly Higher has won two stakes during the current Remington Park meet, including the 350-yard, $50,000 Eastex Stakes (G2) on March 20.

Eagles Fly Higher drew post 7 and will be ridden by Mario Delgado.

Valiant Tiberias will be shortening in distance off of his head victory in the March 27, 440-yard Bank of America Oklahoma Championship Challenge (G2). A 5-year-old son of Valiant Hero trained by Marco Adair Chavez-Gutierrez for owners Sergio Holguin, Cliften Nielsen, and Felix Rodriguez, the gelding drew post 2 and will be ridden by James Flores.

A dozen aged sprinters are entered in Saturday’s 300-yard, $50,000 Bob Moore Memorial Stakes (G2). Christina D. Robinson’s CERs Final Try, last year’s champion 3-year-old gelding, drew post 5 and will be ridden by Cristian Esqueda for trainer Tony Sedillo. A homebred 4-year-old One Dashing Eagle gelding, CERs Final Try earned $581,182 from seven outs during his sophomore campaign, and his four wins included the 440-yard, $710,000 Rainbow Derby (G1) at Ruidoso Downs.

Shy Kisser, a sorrel daughter of Kiss My Hocks owned by Cuadra Chihuahua LLC and a $19,000 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale, is one of 10 Oklahoma-bred juveniles entered in Saturday’s 330-yard, $68,000 Laico Bird Stakes (RG3). Shy Kisser has banked $54,438 from two races, and she is coming off of a third-place finish at odds of 43-1 in the 300-yard, $477,000 Oklahoma Futurity (G2) on March 20. The filly drew post 6 and will be ridden by Gonzalo Gutierrez for trainer Oscar Nunez.

Ten state-bred 3-year-olds, headed by Zynda Racing’s Best Of You, are entered in Saturday’s 350-yard, $68,000 Mr Master Bug Stakes (RG3). A homebred Apollitical Jess filly trained by Eddie D. Willis, Best Of You has won three of her five starts at Remington Park, including last year’s Laico Bird Stakes. Best Of You drew post 5 and will be ridden by Jose Vega.

Victory Farms’ VF Kiss Me Quick drew post 7 for Saturday’s 330-yard, $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile Stakes (R). A homebred daughter of Kiss My Hocks trained by Eddie D. Willis, the filly recorded the 11th-fastest qualifying time for the Remington Park Futurity (RG1) and just missed the cut for the rich final. Justin Klaiber will ride VF Kiss Me Quick.

Bobby D. Cox’s Ratification will make her 4-year-old season debut in Saturday’s 350-yard, $75,000 Easy Date Stakes. A homebred daughter of Apollitical Jess trained by Juan L. Vazquez, the mare is coming off of a sophomore campaign during which she won the 440-yard, $316,000 Rainbow Oaks and 440-yard, $421,000 All American Oaks, both at Ruidoso Downs. Ratification drew post 12 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon.
