Stars Galore In Action In Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—DECEMBER 10, 2021—Rosenthal Ranch’s Bomb Cyclone, who dazzled in his trial victory to the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity, is the 7-5 morning line favorite when a tremendous group of juveniles lineup to race in California’s richest Quarter Horse race, the $2,036,825 Two Million final here at 400 yards.

To be ridden by Eduardo Nicasio for trainer Chris O’Dell, Bomb Cyclone will start from post number one, which is the exact same spot as he clobbered the field to the tune of a four-length win in the trials.

It was O’Dell who placed the son of a leading sire, Favorite Cartel, on the rail during the special post-position draw to took place on Wednesday at Los Alamitos. O’Dell had the third choice in the post position selection, and he went for the number one post.

“I thought about it, and I just said, ‘Why wouldn’t I? Why wouldn’t I pick the number post for this horse? I think he’ll be comfortable there. We are very fortunate to have that position.”

Dunn Ranch’s Whizkey Glasses has scored six victories this year, which ties him for the most by a 2-year-old this season.

Three of those have been stylish efforts at Los Alamitos, including a 1-½ length gliding victory in the $1,112,000 Golden State Million Futurity.

He then returned with a romp in the Two Million trials, winning by three lengths in the second fastest qualifying time. Jesus Rios Ayala will team up with Monty Arrossa from post nine with the son of world champion sire FDD Dynasty.

The field will also feature a half-brother to 2014 Two Million winner He Looks Hot in Ed Allred’s Watch Out and a half-brother 2015 Two Million winner Ima Fearless Hero in Dasha Good Reason. 

This quality cast will also include PCQHRA Breeders Futurity winner Favorite Honey, who has won three races in a row, and The Quarter Company’s Rocket Seventeen, a colt who looked sharp when breaking his maiden in the Two Million trials. Apollitical J Streak, Dynamic Jess, Chizum and Jess Being A Friend complete the field.
