GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—DECEMBER 15, 2021—His Time To Deal, a homebred 3-year-old son of Dealagame racing for Pete A. Scarmardo, is one of a dozen Texas-bred sprinters entered in Saturday’s 400-yard, $50,000 B.F. Phillips Jr. Stakes (RG3) at Lone Star Park.

His Time To Deal has earned $47,561 from five races this season, and his two wins include a wire-to-wire, 1 3/4-length victory in the August 7, $89,000 TQHA Sires’ Cup Derby (R) at Sam Houston Race Park. The homebred gelding drew post 7 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon for trainer John Stinebaugh.

Other contenders include Won Famous Dash, a graded stakes winning 3-year-old Giorgino gelding trained by Rolando Almanza for owner Scarlett Hill Farm Inc. The runner-up in the 440-yard, $205,000 Dash For Cash Derby (G2) on October 2, Won Famous Dash has banked $102,397 from seven races this year, and his three wins include a 2 1/2-length victory in the 400-yard, $64,000 TQHA Classic Stakes (RG2) at Sam Houston Race Park on July 30.

Won Famous Dash drew post 8 and will be ridden by Ricardo Garza-Cruz.

Also on Saturday, five state-bred fillies and mares are entered in the 400-yard, $50,000 Yellow Rose of Texas Stakes (R).

P & J Racing Ltd.’s Tempting Knockout is coming off of a second-place finish, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner Pattys Saint, in the 400-yard, $106,000 AQHA Distaff Challenge Championship (G1) at Albuquerque Downs on October 23. The sophomore daughter of champion Tempting Dash has earned $71,822 from five starts this season.

Tempting Knockout drew post 5 and will be ridden by Luis Vivanco for trainer Toby Keeton.

SLP Mighty High, an 8-year-old son of Mighty Invictus trained by Esteban Rubio for owner Carl R. Moore Management LLC, is one of eight Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds entered back in Saturday’s 870-yard, $58,220 Battle of the Breeds Stakes.

SLP Mighty High is coming off of a clear 5 3/4-length victory in the first of three trials on December 3. The gelding drew post 3 and will be ridden by Victor Urieta Jr.
