OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MAY 25, 2022–A trio of speedy trial winners from the talented barn of trainer Santos Carrizales, Jr. have entered the Grade 1, $1,112,440 Heritage Place Futurity for Saturday night at Remington Park.

Fancy Scarface, the top qualifier from the second night of trials (May 6) has been tabbed as the morning-line favorite at 5-2 odds, in the event for 2-year-olds going 350 yards.

The top qualifier from the first night of trials on May 5, Ivory Senator, is 6-1 in the line. He matches Fancy Scarface in another category upon the post-position draw for this race… neither have a jockey named on them at time of entry.

Juan Pulido rode both horses to their top qualifying times and presumably has not made a decision yet on which 2-year-old gelding he will ride.

A decision on jockeys has to be made by 9am on Thursday morning when the concluding program of the season, Champions’ Night, is made final.

Turcotte, the third from Carrizales barn to qualify for the Heritage Place Futurity, will be ridden by Cody Smith. A colt by Ivory James, Turcotte qualified third fastest on the second night of trials and is 5-1 on the morning line.

Oklahoma Futurity winner Tres Crystals is the second favorite in the Heritage Place Futurity morning line at odds of 3-1. Owned by 95-year-old Elizabeth Logan of Haskell, Okla., Tres Crystals will attempt a sweep of the two open company American Quarter Horse futurities at Remington Park. That has never happened since the Oklahoma Futurity was moved to Oklahoma City in 2006.

Tres Crystals defeated Fancy Scarface (6^th) in the Oklahoma Futurity on March 19. The only other competitor from that event to qualify for the Heritage Place Futurity is Sunday Sylence, who was third behind Tres Crystals in March. Sunday Sylence, owned and trained by Leonardo Alcala, is at 20-1 odds in the morning line and will be ridden by Rodrigo Vallejo.

The Heritage Place Futurity is the richest horse race in Oklahoma and headlines a stellar 12-race program with total purses of $2,520,090. The final night of the 2022 spring season at Remington Park will commence at 5pm.

The Heritage Place Futurity is the 12^th and final race on the Champions’ Night program, and also the final race of the season. The race is set for a 10:22pm start and will be preceded by these nine stakes events:

• Race 4: $50,000 Easy Jet Stakes, 350 yards

• Race 7: $100,000 Heritage Place Juvenile, 350 yards
• Race 8: Grade 1, $100,000 Junos Request Stakes, 400 yards
• Race 9: $278,600 Heritage Place Oaks, 400 yards
• Race 10: Grade 2, $270,100 Heritage Place Derby, 400 yards
• Race 11: Grade 1, $250,000 Debbie Schauf Remington Park Championship, 440 yards

The final three nights of the Remington Park season includes racing on Thursday and Friday (May 26-27), at 6pm. All times are Central.
