LOS ALAMITOS, CA— JULY 30, 2015—Many of the top riders at Los Alamitos will be signing autographs on Saturday near the paddock entrance in the grandstand building to benefit the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund.

The PDJF was created in 2006 by leaders in the horse racing industry including racetrack management, horsemen’s groups, jockeys and other industry related groups. The Fund provides financial assistance to some 61 jockeys who have sustained catastrophic on-track injuries. Since its inception, the PDJF has disbursed more than $5 million.

Saturday’s nine-race program will be headed by an 870-yard event featuring Catalina Handicap winner Justamitch and Catalina runner-up Secret Lass. Owned by Cuadra Mariscal, Justamitch was outstanding in his Catalina victory, as he cruised to a 1¼ length victory. Secret Lass’ second place finish snapped a four-race win streaks.
