Kiss My Hocks Takes Over No. 1 Spot in AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com National Poll

Q-RACING JOURNAL—AUGUST 27, 2015—Sunday’s All American Derby (G1) qualifierKiss My Hocks proved just enough to inch to the top of this week's for the 3-year-old-and-older horses. The Rainbow Derby (G1) victor won for the ninth time in 11 career starts and out-pointed previous No. 1 Dashin Brown Streak by a 103-102 margin in the weekly balloting. As the fifth-fastest qualifier to the All American Derby, Kiss My Hocks will aim for the fourth lucrative finals victory of his career on Labor Day weekend at Ruidoso Downs.

All American Derby fastest-qualifier Apollitical Blood did not receive enough votes to crack this week's Top 10. In fact, Kiss My Hocks is the only Derby finalist currently ranked in the poll. The big mover in this week's balloting among the 3-year-olds-and-older was freshman champion Heza Dasha Fire, who rocketed into the poll at No. 6 following Sunday’s $180,200 Golden State Derby (G2) victory at Los Alamitos.

It certainly was a big week for the nation's 2-year-olds as well, as 34 trials for the $3 million All American Futurity (G1) were held this past Friday and Saturday at Ruidoso Downs. But pollsters made no major changes to this week's juvenile rankings. Walk Thru Crystal remained a near-unanimous No. 1, with 109 of 110 possible points in the voting. Fastest All American Futurity qualifier One Fabulous Eagle did not garner enough points to make the Top 10 this week, while Ruidoso Futurity (G1) winner and All American Futurity finalist First Valiant Sign stood steady at No. 3.
