RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—MAY 26, 2016—The Ruidoso Futurity and Derby trials, Friday thru Sunday, will be shown live on RIDE TV, a 24-hour, high-definition television network that showcases the horse culture and lifestyle. The network’s programming features shows all about horses.

Fans of the triple crown races at Ruidoso Downs will have the opportunity this season to watch the trails and finals for the Ruidoso, Rainbow, and All American Futurity and Derby on RIDE TV, channel 248 on Dish Network, Armstrong, and Windstream cable subscribers throughout the United States.

While rodeos and other sporting programs have been featured, this is the first effort to display quarter horse racing to their viewers.

“Our job will be to introduce the Quarter Horse Triple Crown to our viewers,” co-host Anthony Lucia said.

Lucia’s background comes from the rodeo circuit where he has been both a participant and announcer. A trick roper and former contestant on America's Got Talent, Lucia will be jointed by longtime racing color commentator Tom Dawson. The pair will host the daylong broadcasts that begin with opening day, Friday (May 27) at Ruidoso Downs

With more than 25 experience, in both the Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred industries, Dawson has done on camera analysis for live and posted horse racing remotes airing on ESPN, ABC, Fox Sports Net and NBC. He was the Breeders' Cup Winner's circle location producer for ESPN and NBC and the producer and track coordinator for Jockey Club Tour on Fox.

With hours and hours of television coverage being planned during trial days, the executives at RIDE TV plan to incorporate many of their regular television programs inside the time between trial races. Lucia currently hosts shows like “Swamp Donkey” and “Live with Lucia” on the network, which will cut excerpts of those programs in the time between the trial races.
