RUIDOSO, NM—JULY 19, 2016—Two-time AQHA Racing Champion jockey Cody Jensen, who qualified five finalist in the $1,000,000 Rainbow Futurity(G1), has chosen to ride the fastest qualifier, A Revenant, runner-up in the June 12 Ruidoso Futurity(G1), back in Sunday's rich final.

The 40 year old Utah-native, who captured back-to-back running's of the 2005 and 2006 All American Futurity(G1), has yet to score a victory in the middle leg of the Ruidoso Downs Triple Crown for 2-year-olds. At the time of the draw in the racing office at Ruidoso Downs over the weekend, Jensen's agent Donnie Stewart declared that Jensen had chosen to ride the Michael Joiner trained A Revenant.

"This colt is just super nice," said Jensen. "He ran an impressive second place finish in the Ruidoso Futurity(G1), and now he has bounced back to run strong in the trials for the Rainbow(Futurity). He has come back good since the trials going into the finals, and it was a tough decision to choose between five mounts. This colt has a lot of class, and I just have to stick with him. I am very interested in seeing where he takes us."

Other than A Revenant, and the four other finalists Jensen qualified for the Rainbow Futurity(G1), the jockey also qualified for the $1,224,488 Rainbow Derby(G1) aboard Michael Joiner trained First Valiant Sign. The derby final is for Saturday at Ruidoso Downs.
