RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JUNE 9, 2017—The final opportunity to supplement a foal of 2016 to all three 2018 Grade 1 futurities – the $1-million (est.) Ruidoso Futurity, the $1-million Rainbow Futurity (est.) and the $3-million All American Futurity (est.) – with a single payment is due on June 15.

That supplemental payment of $2,200 also makes those supplemental nominees eligible to the 2019 runnings of the three Grade 1 derbies, provided all sustaining payments are paid. They are the $1-million (est.) Ruidoso Derby, $1.3-million (est.) Rainbow Derby and the $1.5-million (est.) All American Derby.

There is also a $400 sustaining payment due on June 15 for foals of 2016 that are already nominated to the three futurities.

There is a total of nearly $10-million in total purses, including juveniles attached to the futurities and races for horses that do not qualifying for the three Grade 1 derbies.

The 2018 All American Futurity offers the largest purse in quarter horse racing at $3-million (est.). The 2018 purses for the Rainbow Futurity and Ruidoso Futurity are $1-million (est.) each.
