The 17th season of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing 120 days season at Indiana Grand will begin Tuesday, April 16 and continue through Wednesday, Nov. 6.

2019 Racing Dates Approved For Indiana Grand Racing & Casino

SHELBYVILLE, IN—DECEMBER 5, 2018— The Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) held its regular monthly meeting at Indiana Grand Wednesday, Dec. 5. Included on the agenda was the approval of racing dates for 2019 at both Indiana Grand and Harrah’s Hoosier Park.

Both racetracks provided a presentation, including operational and marketing plans for 2019 as well as racing dates, and both tracks received approval for racing dates submitted.

The 17th season of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing at Indiana Grand will mirror racing dates from 2018 with a 120-day racing meet set to begin Tuesday, April 16 through Wednesday, Nov. 6. Racing will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday beginning at 2:05 p.m. with Saturday racing conducted at 6:05 p.m. Also, two Thursday racing dates will be held Thursday, July 18 and Thursday, Sept. 5 with a 2:05 p.m. first post.

"We are already working on several aspects of our 2019 racing program and are very pleased that we will follow nearly the same schedule for racing from 2018," said Jon Schuster, vice president and general manager. "We have worked over the years to tweak our racing days of the week and post times and feel our current schedule accommodates our horsemen and fits well into simulcasting schedules."

Harrah’s Hoosier Park will also provide an identical schedule with a 160-day Standardbred meet resuming Friday, March 29 through Saturday, Nov. 9. Racing will be conducted Tuesday through Saturday with a first post of 6:30 p.m.
