LOS ALAMITOS, CA—AUGUST 17, 2019—The Go Man Go Handicap will be run on September 1 at Los Alamitos Race Course and the connections of many of the top older horses in the country already have this Grade 1 race circled on their calendar.

Let's a take a look at some of the big names expected to compete in this 400-yard race, plus we've included at the bottom of the page some famous quotes regarding the legacy of the Hall of Fame racehorse Go Man Go. Here are some of the possible starters:

• BH Lisas Boy - Looked sharp and fit when winning the 440-yard Bank of America California Championship a week ago. He'll be going for his fifth career Grade 1 victory when he starts in the Go Man Go.
• He Looks Hot - The ageless millionaire added stakes win number seven to his resume when winning the Spencer Childers Championship at 400 yards on July 27. Finished third in the 2017 Go Man Go.
• Hotstepper - Last year's champion 3-year-old finished second in his season debut when competing in the Independence Day Handicap here on July 6. He worked 350 yards from the gate in :18.10 on August 10.
• Jesstacartel - The winner of the Los Alamitos Super Derby last year finished third in the Grade 1 Vessels Maturity at 400 yards in his last start. He scored an easy trial victory to the Vessels two outings ago.
• Kates Easy Moves - This multiple stakes winner became a Grade 1 winner when beating a terrific field in the Vessels Maturity on July 7. Posted a 220-yard turn and work in :12.40 on Tuesday morning.
• Tarzanito - the defending Go Man Go champion will enter this year's running after finishing third in the Spencer Childers Championship at 400 yards. He has one win in six starts this year.
• Zoomin For Spuds - A winner of 11 stakes races at Los Alamitos, the Idaho-bred gelding won the Brad McKinzie Winter Championship earlier this year, but ran fifth in the Vessels Maturity in his last start. He was schedule to work this weekend in preparation for the Go Man Go.

Walt Wiggins, a racing commentator and author, said of Go Man Go: "He was a brilliant speedhorse, some say the fastest ever. He was wild and reckless, a rogue at first, and often a clown who seldom saw the uniqueness of his talents or the seriousness of his commission. He had intrinsic greatness and couldn't care less."
