Calderon, Ponce, Hernandez Earn Lone Star Park Quarter Horse Titles

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—NOVEMBER 10, 2019—Lone Star Park ended their 2019 live Quarter Horse meet Saturday with a super stakes card that included the Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity, Grade 1 Texas Classic Derby, the Texas Classic Juvenile and Paragon Oaks.

Race leaders were also honored in the jockey, trainer and owners standings for the meet.

Josue Ponce was named the track's leading trainer with 13 wins from 76 starts. With a 17% win tag his stable earned $195,642.

Angel Sanchez had 10 wins on 53 starts to finish second and James J Gonzales, II had nine winners on 43 starts for third.

Francisco Calderon took the leading rider title with 16 wins off 84 mounts. He finished in the top three 49% of his starts.

Juan Francisco Garcia, Jr. finished second with 14 wins from 75 starts and Noe Villatoro had 13 wins from 100 mounts to finish third in the jockey standings.

Jose Fabian Hernandez took the leading owner award with four wins for 18 starts, earning $150,196. Cruz Nava had three wins in four starts and $467,651 and Anna Paredes and Omar Paredes had 3 wins on four starts and $343,239 to tie for second leading owner.
