Post Position Draw For Rich Races To Take Place On Wednesday, December 11

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—DECEMBER 5, 2019—Los Alamitos Race Course will host a special post-position draw at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11 for the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity and Grade 1 Champion of Champions. The draw will take place in the Finish Line Room at Los Alamitos and will be televised nationally on TVG.

Media members, horsemen and the general public are invited to attend the draw festivities. Los Alamitos track announcer Ed Burgart will also announce the morning line for the December 14 Champion of Champions and December 15 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity. Burgart will call both of these tremendous race for a final time before retiring from the announcer’s booth on the meet’s closing night, Sunday, December 15.

The Champion of Champions will be headed by the 2018 AQHA champion filly Flash And Roll, who won the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity last year. Owned by Scott Bryant, Flash And Roll enters the Champion of Champions after winning the Los Alamitos Super Derby this year. Bill Hoburg’s BH Lisas Boy, the winner of the Grade 1 Robert Boniface Los Alamitos Invitational Championship and Grade 1 Go Man Go Handicap, is among the other top horses in this race. Jim Walker’s Zoomin For Spuds, winner of the 2016 Champion of Champions will also race, as will Ed Allred’s He Looks Hot and Lesley Joyner’s Jesstacartel, a pair of veterans from last year’s Champion of Champions. Hotstepper, Tequila Sangria, Mi Amor Secret, As And Js, and Katies Easy Moves will also race.

The Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity will be headed by Ed Allred’s fastest qualifier Nomadic, J. Francisco Diaz and Jose Flores’ Ed Burke Million Futurity winner Flokie, and Rosenthal Ranch LLC’s Golden State Million winner Runforyourlife. Other top juveniles in action will include Cattail Cove, Sacred Nation, Kiss Thru Fire, Up And Coming, and Up And Atem.

Connections of each of the horses competing in the Los Alamitos Two Million and Champions of Champions will be able to select their post position based on a random draw that will be conducted earlier in the week.
