Zia Park Has Been Approved To Resume Live Racing Today

HOBBS, NM—DECEMBER 2, 2020—Zia Park Racetrack will resume live racing, without spectators today (December 2).

Located in Hobbs, New Mexico, Zia Park was forced due to COVID-19 concerns to suspend its race meet after its November 11 New Mexico Cup Thoroughbred stakes program. Pursuant to the state's public health order, the casino will remain closed.

Zia Park's December 2 program includes three Quarter Horse races. Post time for the first of 10 races is set for 12 p.m. (MST).

Zia Park's 2020 meet is scheduled to run through December 23. The track's lone remaining Quarter Horse stakes, the 400-yard, $30,000 New Mexico Fillies & Mares Championship (RG1) for state-bred distaffers, is scheduled for Monday, December 7.
