Arapahoe Park Will Open 32-day Live Meet on August 11
AURORA, CO—APRIL 14, 2021—The Colorado Racing Commission on Tuesday approved a 32-date Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse meet for Arapahoe Park near Denver.
Arapahoe Park's 2021 live race meet will get underway August 11 and run through October 2.
According to a report in Daily Racing Form, an order by the state to delay racing until 2022, in part due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, was rescinded on Tuesday.
Arapahoe Park live meet normally runs from late May to-mid-August. For its upcoming meet, the track will begin receiving horses on July 27.
Plans are to offer seven races per day on a Wednesday-through-Saturday schedule. Purses are projected to average $71,000 per day.
