TUCSON, AZ—FEBRUARY 13, 2015—Juvencio Canales’ Blameitonthetequila will make his 4-year-old debut in Sunday’s 330-yard, $10,000-added AQHA Rillito Bonus Challenge Stakes at Rillito Park.
A gelded son of Furyofthewind trained by Eloy Mendoza, Blameitonthetequila ships in from Turf Paradise in Phoenix, where he scored a half-length victory in the 300-yard, $10,700 Turf Paradise Maiden Stakes on December 14. The gelding drew post 2 and will be ridden by Alejandro Ortega.
Victor H. Enciso-Ulloa’s Surf Dog, an 8-year-old gelding by all-time leading sire First Down Dash, drew post 6 and will be ridden by Don French. Trained by Jaime Aldavaz Sr., Surf Dog will be making his first start since November 29, when he won a 250-yard, $5,600 open-condition allowance at Turf Paradise.
