RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JULY 26, 2015—Fastest-qualifier Get Down Earlene races in the $71,730 John Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge on Saturday afternoon at Ruidoso Downs.
First post time is 1 p.m. with free parking and free general admission.
Get Down Earlene, trained by Mike Joiner, makes her third career start and has improved with each effort. After a second-place run in her Ruidoso Futurity trial, the Tempting Dash filly came back in her John Deere Juvenile trial to overcome a stumble at the start and rally for a neck win with the top time of :17.921.
G.R. Carter Jr. has the mount on Get Down Earlene with the ninth post position.
James Sills and Abelardo Flores Jr.’s homebred Js Abel Dasher will be dangerous after impressing while making her Ruidoso Downs’ debut in the trials. The Eddie Willis-trained filly won by three quarters of a length with a :17.944 mark for the 350 yards.
A daughter of The Louisiana Cartel, Js Abel Dasher came to Ruidoso Downs after four starts at Remington Park. In her final start at the Oklahoma City track, she was second by a nose against Oklahoma-breds in the $70,000 FL Lady Bug Stakes.
Regular rider Jose Vega has the mount with the fourth post position.
