AJAX, ONT—MAY 22, 2016—Country Boy 123 broke his maiden on Sunday with an impressive ¾ length effort over Valiant Stoli Time to set the fastest qualifying time for the Ajax Maiden Challenge at Ajax Downs.

The 10 fastest, Challenge enrolled 3-year-olds & up maidens at time of nomination from the two trail races on Sunday, will return to Ajax Downs on Sunday, June 5 to vie for the winner's share of a $20,000-added purse going 330 yards.

Ridden by jockey Neil Husbands, County Boy 123 completed the 350 yards in :17.250 seconds into a 10 mph headwind to secure the top qualifying mark. Trainer Bryn Robertson conditions the son of Country Chicks Man for owner Ruth Barbour.

Carolyn Bay bred Country Boy 123 in Michigan from the Dash Thru Traffic mare Very Dashin 123. He has compiled a (5) 1-1-0 record and earned $6,162.

Valiant Stoli Time held on to the second fastest qualifying time of :17.380 for owner Milena Kwiecien and trainer Jason Pascoe. Brian Bell rode the Valiant Hero Texas-bred out of Its Stoli Time, by Stoli. Bob and Jerry Gaston is the breeder.

Memory Of Jay won the first trial but was disqualified and placed third, moving Dashin Carter up to the third qualifying time of :17.420 seconds. That gave the Carters Cartel Oklahoma-bred his second official win in four starts.

Trained-and-owned by the aforementioned Jason Pascoe, Dashin Carter is out of the Check Him Out mare Tiffany Cut. Vwp Jr., Inc. bred the bay gelding with a (4) 2-0-0 record and $6,639.
