RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JUNE 11, 2016—A very competitive pair of trials to the Adequan Ruidoso Downs Derby trials are set on Friday afternoon at Ruidoso Downs.

First post time is 1 p.m. and racing runs Friday through Monday every week at Ruidoso Downs. There is always free parking and free general admission.

The three-year-olds with the 10-fastest times in the Adequan Ruidoso Downs Derby trials gain eligibility to the Adequan Ruidoso Downs Derby on July 2.

Meeting in the first 400-yard Adequan Ruidoso Downs Derby trial, the eighth race, and starting side-by-side are Bf Fooserageous and The Fiscal Cliff.

The Birrell Farms-homebred Bf Fooserageous makes her first appearance since finishing a close second Grade 3, $160,900 West Texas Futurity at Sunland Park. The Foose-sired filly held the lead before giving way to Good Job Honey and losing by a neck.

The winner of six of nine starts, Bf Fooserageous won her West Texas Derby trial and an allowance race at Sunland Park in his two other 2015 starts.

Last summer, while racing on the intermountain circuit, Bf Fooserageous won the South Valley Futurity and the Utah Breeders’ Futurity.

Adrian A. Ramos has the mount with the sixth post position.

Thomas Lepic’s homebred The Fiscal Cliff drew the fifth post position and is after his seventh win in his 10th start.

This year, The Fiscal Cliff has a second from two starts after an impressive juvenile campaign. After winning the $100,000 Heritage Place Juvenile at Remington Park, the Pyc Paint Your Wagon son went to Prairie Meadows to take the $181,321 Iowa Double Gold Futurity and then rolled to a two-and-one-half-length win in the $201,000 Jim Bader Futurity.

Trainer Kasey Willis has named Cesar Gomez to ride The Fiscal Cliff.
