Walk Thru Fire Geldings Win Pair of AQHA Challenge Races Sunday at Jerome

JEROME, ID—JUNE 19, 2016—A pair of Walk Thru Fire geldings won two AQHA Racing Challenge races on Jerome Fairground's Sunday race card.

Pete Arrossa Memorial AQHA Bonus Challenge

Graded stakes winner Ynot Walk rolled a one-length win over Time For Jesse Lee in the $11,700 Pete Arrossa Memorial AQHA Bonus Challenge (not black type) Sunday afternoon at Jerome.

Nakia Ramirez rode the 4-year-old son of Walk Thru Fire over the 400 yards in a quick :19.563 clocking, a 110-speed index with a 5 mph tailwind. The $5,615 winner's purse boosted the gelding's earnings total to $177,505.

James Hanson conditions Ynot Walk for RTM Stables, LLC and George Weldon. Steve D Burns, DVM bred the sorrel gelding in California from the Chicks Beduino mare Ynot Bar.

Jim Walker's homebred Time For Jesse Lee picked up $2,399 for second and Ss Paydirt earned $1,170 for third.

Jerome AQHA Maiden Challenge

Eighth-fastest qualifier Walkn By broke his maiden Sunday with a three-quarter length win over Tic Tac Attack in the $10,200 Jerome AQHA Maiden Challenge (not black type). Kissin Kate Barlow finished half-a-length back in third.

Mark Hanson saddled the winning son of Walk Thru Fire for owners Robin Dunn and RTM Stables, LLC. Ridden by Nakia Ramirez, the sorrel gelding completed the 350 yards in :17.660 seconds, a 105-speed index with a 5 mph tailwind. He earned $4,910 for the effort.

Tic Tac Attack picked up $2,097 for owners BDS Performance Horses for second and Kiss Kate Barlow earned $1,022 for owners Dawna and Delra Talbot for third.
